Why Should I Be Perfect

I don't believe in perfection.

As a child, my parents expected perfection from me, but, would give me tasks which were not intended for children, thereby, sabotaging any chance of attaining their expectations. Needless to say, life, as a child, was full of discouragement and lack of hope. I developed the belief, at a very young age, that I was worthless and incapable.

Now, I'm disabled, due to an accident, and ever since that day I've had to (re)learn to live with a mental disability, as well as working very diligently to undo all the damage that my parents inflicted on me.

Nothing in this world is perfect. We can aspire to be our very best, and, to me--that is perfection. Nature, with its imperfections is beautiful, and, expresses the diversity that God intended for us to accept as good and beautiful.
